Hi there! I’m Laura, a homeschooling mum of two and Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist. I run my little home clinic in Noraville where I support children and their families with hollistic approaches to communication and feeding.
As a mum of two, I truly understand how overwhelming it can feel when you are trying to navigate all the noise and advice (along with parental stress and triggers). That’s why I am so passionate about listening to your story, your values and your experience, together we can design and tailor stratagies that are specific and effective for you and your family.
When I welcome you to my home (clinic) I make it a priority to create a safe, nurturing space where both children and parents feel seen and heard. Not only is this aligned with what we need as humans (meaningful connection) but also because I recognise that real learning and growth only happen when children feel secure, supported, and understood.
I’m here to walk alongside you on this journey - the struggles, the wins, the learnings all of it! You are not alone.
There are so many things I love about being a Speech Pathologist, but a few areas really light me up:
Supporting Parents
I believe that when parents feel supported, children thrive. As a mum myself, I know how important it is to have someone walk alongside you especially when challenges arise. I’m passionate about helping parents “fill their cups,” from providing some encouragement, sharing strategies, all the way through to sharing a cuppa and simply being a safe space to talk.
Looking Beyond Behaviour
I see behaviour as a window into what a child is trying to tell us. Instead of focusing only on the behaviour itself, I love working with families to uncover the reasons behind it and to explore other, more helpful ways a child might communicate their needs. So often our expectations go beyond a child's developmental abilities - when we shift our framework we can see so much more good in our children and help them to expand their skillset as they are ready.
Reducing Mealtime Stress
Mealtimes can be such a source of stress for families (from the planning, ensuring nutritional needs are met, external and social expectations etc), but they can also be beautiful opportunities for connection. I’m passionate about supporting families to let go of pressure at the table and to rediscover joy, comfort, and calm in their routines around food.
Early Literacy and Language
There is something magical about watching a child discover their voice, their words, and the power of communication. I’m especially passionate about building early literacy and language skills in ways that feel fun and natural, while nurturing connection and intrinsic motivation along the way.
Speech Sounds
I really love the early childhood space and supporting children as they learn to produce their speech sounds clearly and confidently. For many children, unclear speech can feel frustrating and impact their ability to be understood by others (often impacting their sense of self, welbeing and ability to socially engage with others). I greatly enjoy combining research with family values and indivdual needs to tailor speech practice programs filled with play.
Multi-Modal Communication
Communication is not just about spoken words. It can be gestures, visuals, signed languages, sounds, devices, or even facial expressions. I love embracing all of the different ways children express themselves and supporting families to celebrate and use these modes together.
At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief in connection, safety, and joy. Every child and every family has a unique story—and I feel so privileged to be invited into that story, even for a little while.
I offer a range of services to support children and their families, with flexibility to suit different needs and preferences:
1:1 Sessions
Individualised therapy sessions held in my home clinic at Noraville, tailored to your child’s goals and family’s needs.
Telehealth
Online sessions that bring therapy to you, wherever you are. A great option for families who prefer the comfort and convenience of home.
Parent Education
Practical, supportive sessions for parents and carers, giving you strategies, knowledge, and confidence to support your child’s communication and feeding journey.
Group Sessions & Playgroup
Opportunities for children to learn, practice, and connect alongside peers in a fun and supportive environment. These sessions also give parents the chance to connect and share experiences.
NDIS Clients
I welcome NDIS clients who are plan-managed or self-managed, and I work closely with families to ensure services meet individual goals and needs.
My little home clinic in Noraville is a calm, welcoming space designed to help children and families feel safe and comfortable. Sessions are playful, engaging, and tailored to your child’s needs, with a strong focus on connection to support learning.
To make visits as stress-free as possible, there is plenty of street parking nearby, bathroom facilities available, and even the option to enjoy a snack plate or a cup of tea while you’re here. I want families to feel at home the moment they walk in—because when children feel safe and parents feel seen, then families can truly thrive.
Our playgroups flow gently between 10am and 12pm—however, I am not huge on 'timeframes' so if you are early or running late that is okay, we can accomidate any 2 hours between 9.30am and 1.30pm. Come for any two hours that suit your family.
Children are free to explore the mud kitchens, craft tables, bubbles, and cosy reading nook within a child-led and open play setting. Parents are invited to 'fill their cup' whether that be screen free play with their children, chatting with other adults or participating in some gentle craft (such as weaving, painting or sewing) all whilst enjoying a relaxed morning tea and hot cuppa.
I am always nearby to chat, answer questions, and offer gentle guidance around your child’s communication and development. Together we can tackle tricky parenting, feeding and communication topics as a group or we can chat specific situations relevent to your family.
These mornings are just as much for you as for your little ones—a chance to slow down, sip tea, connect with others, and fill your cup while your children play.
